A sweet note from Jack’s family: “I just wanted to let you know that Max is doing absolutely WONDERFUL!!! We could not be any happier with him! We have changed his name, however, to Jack. That was the one name that everyone could agree on! He and Madie have gotten along together wonderfully! She has actually acted somewhat playful with him, which is sooo out of the norm for her! Also, when he met our cat, Cleo, he walked up to her and licked her on the head! I couldn’t believe it! He has been so perfect in every way and is adjusting very well and is very happy! I will keep you all updated with emails and pictures. Know that you always have an open invitation to our home any time to come and visit him!!! Thank you for all of the wonderful work you do!”
Guiness and O’Riley were both adopted from OWNC Rescue. O’Riley is a sweet, handsome Landseer who was adopted eight years ago. Family life has been a little more exciting now that young Guiness has joined the family. We received the following update Guiness, “Having a puppy in the house again is very entertaining and exhausting! He has so much energy. At any given time you can find about 15 toys scattered about, along with his tennis balls.”
Ike, who is pictured on the left, came into rescue as a stray. He had been wondering the streets and was covered with ticks. This would be a terrible experience for any dog, but even more so for Ike because he is blind from juvenile cataracts. Thankfully, those bad days are over and Ike is loved and adored in his new home. Ike’s best friend is Leo (pictured on the right). Leo seemed to instinctively know how to help Ike learn his way around the house and yard. Now Ike and Leo play together and have a great time! As you can see from the picture, their mom is very proud of both of these boys!
Oliver was extremely thin and very ill when he was rescued from the animal shelter. His health and spirits improved rapidly thanks to the love and care he received in his foster home. It only took a short time for Oliver’s foster mom to fall in love and want to adopt him. We are glad he will have a wonderful new home as he continues to recover.
Bogie was adopted by OWNC members who felt that having two Newfs just wasn’t quite enough. With Ruffin, Cosmo, and Bogie the gang is now complete. Bogie quickly found the toy box in his new home filled with all kinds of stuffies to carry around. He also loves playing with Cosmo and taking daily walks.
Ellie and her owner John make a wonderful working team! They have quickly learned the Newfoundland Club of America junior and senior levels of water training. Ellie has successfully completed all the exercises to earn a Water Dog and Water Rescue Dog title. This picture shows Ellie on the ‘Tow a Boat’ exercise. Good job, Ellie!
