Logan was only hours away from euthanasia when OWNCR stepped in and gave this boy a second chance. Logan now lives with two chihuahuas and is loving his daily walks and trips to the dog park!
Bruce is big boy that sadly had been shuffled around in multiple homes before coming to OWNCR. Now he is enjoying the good life and loves his new brother, a fun loving Golden Retriever.
Auggie was 9 years old when he came to OWNCR, Now he is living happily with his forever family, which is full of rescue newfs!
Winston’s family shared the following update: “He loves everyone. Everyone loves him!!! We finished all the obedience classes and he is now training to be a therapy dog.”
A sweet note from Jack’s family: “I just wanted to let you know that Max is doing absolutely WONDERFUL!!! We could not be any happier with him! We have changed his name, however, to Jack. That was the one name that everyone could agree on! He and Madie have gotten along together wonderfully! She has actually acted somewhat playful with him, which is sooo out of the norm for her! Also, when he met our cat, Cleo, he walked up to her and licked her on the head! I couldn’t believe it! He has been so perfect in every way and is adjusting very well and is very happy! I will keep you all updated with emails and pictures. Know that you always have an open invitation to our home any time to come and visit him!!! Thank you for all of the wonderful work you do!”
Guiness and O’Riley were both adopted from OWNC Rescue. O’Riley is a sweet, handsome Landseer who was adopted eight years ago. Family life has been a little more exciting now that young Guiness has joined the family. We received the following update Guiness, “Having a puppy in the house again is very entertaining and exhausting! He has so much energy. At any given time you can find about 15 toys scattered about, along with his tennis balls.”
Ike, who is pictured on the left, came into rescue as a stray. He had been wondering the streets and was covered with ticks. This would be a terrible experience for any dog, but even more so for Ike because he is blind from juvenile cataracts. Thankfully, those bad days are over and Ike is loved and adored in his new home. Ike’s best friend is Leo (pictured on the right). Leo seemed to instinctively know how to help Ike learn his way around the house and yard. Now Ike and Leo play together and have a great time! As you can see from the picture, their mom is very proud of both of these boys!
As the only dog in the family, Chewy is the center of attention and totally spoiled!
Skittle went from being a sad, sick shelter dog with heartworms to a happy, healthy, member of a loving family! Now Skittle’s tail never stops wagging and he loves everyone he meets.
Samson is enjoying the good life in his Hill Country home.
If you ask about Emma, her family will tell you, “She is the most amazing dog. She is smart, beautiful, eager to please, and such a love muffin.”
Dubh (pronounced Dove) is a Delta Society therapy dog. She works at rehabilitation centers, elderly care facilities, and with the children of cancer patients. Dubh has a special ability to sense when her owner’s blood sugar is low and will alert her. What a remarkable girl!
Loretta is a fun 3 ½ year old female who spent her entire life outdoors. Now she is enjoying family life and loves chasing squirrels!
Sable’s family reports, “She is definitely all puppy, and we love her! Every day she learns something new and is very eager to please. She has made fast friends with the Pomeranian, and has discovered that the baby pool is quite fun on hot days!”

Ben was fostered by OWNC members and it didn’t take long for them to fall in love with him. This sweet boy quickly became a member of the family.
Willowby enjoying an afternoon nap with Harley. He is dearly loved by his new family.
Samson was dearly loved by his foster mom and she wasn’t sure she could let him go. But as you can see from the picture, he is now loved just as much by his new mom.
Rosie was welcomed by several neighbors on adoption day. She and Chi-Chi quickly became buddies.
Oliver was extremely thin and very ill when he was rescued from the animal shelter. His health and spirits improved rapidly thanks to the love and care he received in his foster home. It only took a short time for Oliver’s foster mom to fall in love and want to adopt him. We are glad he will have a wonderful new home as he continues to recover.
Lexi has been a perfect fit with her family. Axel is her new high-energy playmate. As part of her lifeguard duties, Lexi continues to try to save Axel from the swimming pool.
Kuma quickly won the hearts of his new family with his sweet temperament and good manners. Kuma is Japanese for ‘bear’ and a fitting name for such a handsome boy.
Katie used to live her life tethered to a chain but that has all changed. Her days are now filled with daily walks, doggie daycare, car rides, playtime with Hendrix, and lots of loving. What a lucky girl!
A happy picture on adoption day! Griff will have a great time in his new home with triplets to play with and a swimming pool.
Ella has been adopted by OWNC members who love animals, especially Newfoundlands. They also have two other Newfies they have adopted. Ella fit right in at her new country home and helps with the daily chores.
Charlie was a perfect match for a family with three boys. He has been keeping the family fit with morning and evening walks. Five-year-old Sam quickly figured out that Charlie makes a good pillow to watch cartoons.
Bogie was adopted by OWNC members who felt that having two Newfs just wasn’t quite enough. With Ruffin, Cosmo, and Bogie the gang is now complete. Bogie quickly found the toy box in his new home filled with all kinds of stuffies to carry around. He also loves playing with Cosmo and taking daily walks.

Shelby captured the heart of her foster family and they decided to adopt her. Their 6-year old daughter, Kassy, loves to play with her new best friend.
Nakita goes to work every day with her new owner and enjoys weekends in the country.
Sailor was adopted by OWNC members and fit right in with their menagerie of animals. What a wonderful family portrait! Too bad the two cats, nine birds, and rabbit couldn’t fit in the picture.

Hagrid is described by his family as “a sweet boy with lots of energy and lots of love to give”.
Jack has a wonderful new home on a Texas ranch.
Ellie and her owner John make a wonderful working team! They have quickly learned the Newfoundland Club of America junior and senior levels of water training. Ellie has successfully completed all the exercises to earn a Water Dog and Water Rescue Dog title. This picture shows Ellie on the ‘Tow a Boat’ exercise. Good job, Ellie!
Dotty is now a certified therapy dog. She was an instant hit at the children’s hospital.
Chance is having a great time playing with Jordan, Patrick, and Boomer. He also loves swimming in the pool and going on walks in the neighborhood.
Caesar was adopted first and then Raffa quickly joined the family. Caesar and Raffa equal twice the love and twice the fun!
